Dorothy Schrecengost from
North Port, FL, just joined our staff in April 2010 at Baked Occasions and Sugar Island as a Bakery Manager. Dorothy is in charge of quality control & all things chocolate!
Milly Run from New York, started her career with Baked Occasions in 2007. Milly is a Bakery Manager & Sugar Artist. Yes, she is young, but very talented.
Cindi and Steve Murphy started Sugar Island Cupcakes on December 12, 2008 on Taylor street at the Punta Gorda Downtown Merchant's Association Farmers Market.
After much success, a search began for a home for our new cupcake venture. The perfect location was selected one street over. We also will continue to make custom designer wedding cakes (www.bakedoccasions.com) now in Punta Gorda and sell our cupcakes at our booth at the Farmers Market in Punta Gorda. Cindi Murphy from Indianapolis, moved from NW Chicago in 1998 and opened Baked Occasions Wedding Cakes, Port Charlotte in 2001. She is the Owner/Designer and Sugar Artist.
Steve Murphy from Indy and Chicago, retired and looked forward to a relaxing lifestyle in Punta Gorda. He was drafted and forced to work as the Chief Financial Officer. He has been banned from all actual work that goes on in a bakery.
Long before joining the family business in April 2011, Spokes Model and Heir to the Sugar Island Cupcake fortune, Kris Hargis knew her way around a cupcake. Rising through the corporate ranks, she was quickly promoted before her first day to Senior Vice President. Kris brings a special talent of being the boss's favorite.
